Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of Livingfire, a quit counter for iPhone and Android. Using the app means you accept them.

Livingfire is published by the operator of Livingfire.

Your licence

You have a personal, non-transferable licence to use Livingfire on devices you own or control, for as long as you keep to these terms. The app, its code and its design stay with the operator of Livingfire; the licence does not give you the right to copy, sell, rent or take the app apart.

Livingfire+

The counter, the daily hold, the urge SOS, the slip flow, app lock and backup export and import are free, and stay free. Livingfire+ is an optional subscription that adds unlimited quits, full history, the urge heatmap, custom milestones, money goals, four more fire themes, why-cards with photos, and share cards without the wordmark.

Livingfire+ is sold monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, in your store currency, is shown on the paywall before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or your Google Play account at confirmation. Cancel or change a subscription in your store settings: on iPhone in Settings, on Android in Google Play › Subscriptions. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and does not renew.

Free trial

Where a free trial is offered and you are eligible for it, the trial runs for the stated period and then becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Whether you are eligible is decided by the store, not by Livingfire.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple and Google, so refunds are handled by them, under their own policies. Livingfire cannot issue a refund directly.

Not medical advice

Livingfire is a counter and a journal. It is not medical advice and not a treatment for substance use disorder. Stopping alcohol or some drugs suddenly can be dangerous if you are dependent — talk to a clinician first.

Livingfire diagnoses nothing, promises no outcome, and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number.

Acceptable use

Use Livingfire for your own counting. Do not use it to break the law, to harass anyone, or to interfere with the app, the stores or anyone else's device, and do not try to get around the paid features.

What you write stays yours

Your why-cards, notes and photos belong to you. They stay on your device, and the operator of Livingfire has no access to them and claims no rights over them.

No warranty

Livingfire is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. There is no promise that the app will run without interruption or mistakes, or that a reminder will always arrive at the moment you chose: delivery depends on your device, its battery settings and its operating system.

Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you, with Settings › Data › Export a backup.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator of Livingfire is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damage, or for records that are deleted or cannot be read, arising out of your use of Livingfire. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending the licence

You can stop using Livingfire at any time by deleting the app, which ends the licence; cancel a subscription in your store settings first, as deleting the app does not cancel it. the operator of Livingfire may end the licence if these terms are broken.

Changes to these terms

Changed terms ship inside a new version of the app, and the date at the top of this page changes with them. Using Livingfire after that means you accept them.
