Livingfire is a quit counter that keeps your records on your device. This policy says what it stores, what it never collects, and the one service it talks to.

Livingfire is published by the operator of Livingfire.

What Livingfire stores

Everything you enter stays in Livingfire's own storage on your device: your quits (the habit, its label, when you started, what it cost per day), your daily check-ins, the urges you log (the time, what set it off, how strong it was, an optional note), the slips you log (the time, the streak it ended, an optional note), your why-cards and any photo you attach to one, your custom milestones and money goals, and your settings.

Each check-in, urge and slip also stores the time zone it was written in, so the counter stays honest when you travel.

Where it lives

On your device, and nowhere else. Livingfire has no account, no server and no cloud sync. There is nothing to sign in to.

Your data lives only on this device. On iPhone it is included in your own encrypted iCloud/iTunes device backup; Livingfire does not upload it anywhere.

A photo you attach to a why-card is copied into Livingfire's own folder on the device. The photo library itself is only read when you pick a photo.

What Livingfire does not collect

There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Livingfire never asks for your name, your email address or your phone number, and it does not know who you are.

The habit you are counting never appears in a notification unless you switch that on yourself in Settings › Reminders.

Purchases

Livingfire+ is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Purchases are handled by RevenueCat, which is the only service Livingfire ever contacts.

RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID that the app generates, the purchase receipt from the store, and the name of the paywall screen you were on when you subscribed. It does not receive your quits, check-ins, urges, slips, why-cards, photos or notes. None of that ever leaves your device.

Your payment details are handled by Apple or Google. Livingfire never sees them.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled and delivered by your device. Nothing is sent from a server, and no reminder content leaves your phone.

Livingfire does not sell your data

Your records are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train anything. There is nothing to sell: the data is on your phone.

Taking your data out, and deleting it

Settings › Data › Export a backup writes a JSON file holding your quits, check-ins, urges, slips, why-card text and custom milestones, then hands it to the share sheet so you can keep it wherever you like. Photos and app settings are not included in the file.

Settings › Data › Delete all data erases every record, every attached photo and every setting on the device, and cancels any scheduled reminders. It cannot be undone. Deleting the app removes everything as well.

Age

Livingfire is made for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

A changed policy ships inside a new version of the app, and the date at the top of this page changes with it.

Livingfire is a counter and a journal. It is not medical advice and not a treatment for substance use disorder. Stopping alcohol or some drugs suddenly can be dangerous if you are dependent — talk to a clinician first.
